"Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; Praise Him with the sound of the lute and harp! Praise Him with the timbrel and dance; Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes! Praise Him with loud cymbals! Praise Him with clashing cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!" While singing to the Lord is one way of worshipping, playing a musical instrument is another form of worship as well (1 Chronicles 15). Comprised of a variety of instruments, including piano, keyboards, guitars, drums, percussion, woodwinds, and brass, our band and orchestra play a prominent role during our Sunday morning worship services. The Worship Band/Orchestra at West Jackson Street Baptist Church instrumentally leads our congregation in Sunday worship at the 10:30 a.m. worship service. The Worship Band/Orchestra also participates in seasonal events and other special programs, such as our yearly Christmas Program and our Easter Night of Praise. This body of volunteers is a non-auditioned group and is open to those who passionately desire not only to praise the Lord with their gifts and abilities but also to lead others to worship the Lord in spirit and in truth. We invite you to visit one of our weekly scheduled rehearsals to see if the Lord would have you serve in this ministry. Interested in joining the Worship Band and Orchestra? If you are interested in joining the Worship Band/Orchestra, please attend one of weekly scheduled rehearsals and fill out a Band/Orchestra Enrollment Card. Rehearsal Schedule Wednesday evenings Childcare is provided. Sunday mornings Childcare is provided during our worship services
